NEW COURSE!! – Cancer Hates Healthy Living (Starts October 2023)

Finally, the wait is over. My new course “Cancer HATES Healthy Living” is here. Register here now, class starts Sunday, October 8, 2023.

Think about how much time and money you might spend treating a disease like cancer. It truly causes financial toxicity in the lives of cancer patients according to a recent study. And despite the fact that 1 in 2 American women, and 1 and 3 men, will develop some form of cancer in their lifetime, most cancers are preventable.

  • The myriad of cancer treatments used in modern healthcare is dizzying and keeping up with medical appointments is not exactly what I want to be doing every day
  • Frequently, treating cancer is like playing a game of whack-a-mole. Chemotherapy drugs treat the original cancer in one organ, and then a dose of radiation is used to treat cancer that has spread to another
  • Any new cancer site that pops up is treated in a never-ending cycle until the person reaches exhaustion and gives up, or worse

FOLLOWING THE PREVENTION GUIDELINES REDUCES CANCER RISK

And I’m not exaggerating when I say that most cancers are preventable. Top findings from recent studies show that people who adhere to the prevention guidelines published by medical societies could potentially reduce their cancer risk by 10 – 45%. As well, adherence to these guidelines may also reduce the risk of:

  • Breast cancer by 19 – 60%,
  • Endometrial cancer by 23 – 60%, and
  • Colorectal cancer by 27 – 52% [1]

CANCER AFFECTS YOUR POCKETS…DRASTICALLY!

In the United States, cancer patients had a $21 billion economic burden associated with their cancer care. [11] This consists of $16.2 billion in out-of-pocket expenses and $4.87 billion attributed to patient time (e.g., time spent traveling to, waiting for, and receiving healthcare).

And once the treatment has ended the financial impact does not stop there. The CDC estimates that 30% of cancer survivors cannot return to work or have a decreased ability to work after their treatment has ended.  In addition, cancer survivors had to significantly scale back their leisure activities, withdraw savings, or sell their possessions to meet these financial obligations.
